Defying tradition, in 2009 Mondkopf imposed himself as a French electronic revelation with his debut album 'Galaxy Of Nowhere'. Critical acclaim included a comparison to Brian Eno by Les Inrocks, as well as artistic parallels to Apparat, Modeselektor and Moderat. He remixed Caribou, The Teenagers, Black Devil Disco Club, Golden Filter, Johnny Cash and picked up the ears of DJs including Agoria, James Holden, Busy P, Boys Noize and James Zabiela in the process… His 'Galaxy of Nowhere' Live show also began to tour… voted in the top five Live shows of 2010 by Tsugi Magazine in France. In 2011, and at still only 24, Mondkopf's second album 'Rising Doom' is ready. Inspired by post-punk, black metal, and with the music of Aphex Twin and Autechre always in his head, the album displays an energy du force like no other. Merging sound and vision, he has also collaborated with multimedia design agency, Trafik, to conceive a Live show experience for both the ears and eyes; black and white tension immerses, igniting the sensation of rave parties, exorcism and a mystical experience…

Ricardo Tobar from Chile is the perfect ambassador of this small place in the geography of music where experimental techno and pop sensuality go perfectly well together It begins like Four Tet and then the bass comes like a sudden depressurization. "Sudden depressurization": just try to repeat these two words 10 times, and you will understand the craziness of this song.

Shudders! "Brrr" is the definition of a new ganstery techno, the improbable meeting of Dutch warehouses' atmosphere and the Southern hemisphere, in its cold and telluric grooves. The proof that the return of samples in techno isn't summarized in show-off gimmicks, but can create a particularly efficient method of composition.

A2. Yaheya

Like a UFO of Vaudou micro-techno, already playlisted by Brodinski and Zombie Disco Squad, "Yaheya" makes you live the Peyote experience like never, in an infernal comeback to dancing on the edge of the black hole.

B1. Jurassic Park

Qoso continues his trip around a shoddy world with half-swaying, half-martial rhythms to go say hello to the dinosaurs. Playful and minimal in its make, maximal in the effects, Jurassic Park offers one of the most happily WTF breaks of the year.

B2. Brrr (Gary Beck remix)

We decided to give ourselves a little present. Gary Beck is the author of the hit "Consumed" on Minus, "Drifting" on the latest Robert Johnson mix of Ivan Smagghe, and one of the revelation/validation of last year with a few EPs on labels such as Perc Trax or Edit Select. For his taste for curious details and an atmosphere reminiscent of an apocalypse under MDMA, the meeting with Qoso seemed pretty logical.
The result has greatly exceeded our expectations. Radical, not far from a live process, this remix swirls around the original's infrabass and maintains its alienating suspense. A future hit for all adepts of big nocturnal communions.

Yet again another logical meet, or actually necessary. After having made friends with Dirtybird/Mothership, Olibusta comes and instigates his mischief in "Brrr" with a vocal gimmicky wink which pushes towards funk without clearing out the black magic fumes.

Yaheya (Darabi "Great Sioux Nation" remix)
We're taking Darabi from the cot of their project because they're already really worth it : capable of knocking you over by drawing out an old Christian Vogel in a DJ set, and to serve the vapors of an hallucinogenic reinterpretation of "Yaheha", for sure, there is a future…

Brrr (Clement Meyer "Physical Stamina" remix)
Clement Meyer is not only the founding father of the French techno music website of reference Get The Curse, and the label manager of Fondation Records (Danton Eeprom), he also is a DJ/producer with a strong vision, as testified by this technologic remix, which gives us a playfull frustration with rare distinction.

A1. Deli

“Deli” is one of the most beautiful, adolescent masterpieces you will have had the pleasure of hearing since “If I ever feel better”. A rush to the street, under the sun, in the hope to find at the deli, enough to sustain a whole life of unconscious promises “We will always feel…”.

A2. Moonson

Iridescent guitars, samples displaying that naivity only found in old house Favorites, and without even mentioning the funky Piano, Delorean sing on “Moonson” a funny kind of modern gospel. Ekhi's voice is that of a friend from forever, one who takes you by the hand to visit the world's wonders in the most joyous of dispositions.

B1. Seasun

“Seasun”, not yet gotten out of the filter, pours out into its amazing chorus creating an anthem to some pagan cult for the small of the mornings, a smiley in disguise of a voodoo mask. With Delorean, nostalgia is inevitable yet makes you realize there is still time to be utterly happy.

B2. Seasun (John Talabot remix)

We entrusted production to John Talabot, genius newcomer from the excellent disco label Permanent Vacation. He keyed it up with his darling drums and pumped up the reverbs around the edges, braiding the synth in it to wake the clubbers after a long hypnosis, whilst forcing them in a handclapping trance.

Never before has a song been given such an appropriate name. I Feel Alive is the embodiment of power, a track giving you the will to jump out of bed to conquer the world. I Feel Alive is a pure unadulterated mix of colossal riffs that Guns' N' Roses very own Slash would be proud of having fathered, blended with infectious hyper crunky claps. Forget the need for Ristretto, from now on 33Hz will do the job beautifully.

I Feel Alive is the kind of track that needed a good kicking, someone to wreak havoc in the ballroom and create an explosion of joy. Fittingly The Shoes are masters in this kind of transformation, and thanks to a series of well appointed riffs and a dynamic rhythm, I Feel Alive is transformed into a total destructive, epic anthem.

From the opening beat, there is nothing you can do, Sentinel Of Love is the definition of a perfect pop song and 33Hz are our new synth heroes. Usher, Gino Soccio, Wham! and Earth, Wind & Fire brought together under the neon lights of a New York basement club whispering love and sweet nothings.

B2. Sentinel Of Love (Boombass Remix)

Cassius and 33Hz together is the perfect house-pop and funk fantasy. In Hubert Blanc-Francard AKA Boombass' take on Sentinel Of love, one can recognize the Parisian duo's mastering of Studio science, their art of detailing and an ability to add soul to anything. In his proposal, he blends house and minimal funk, and looks towards the Dirtybird sound before making the chorus come back in an electro-funk fractale. A 7.40 minute long GP bomb for dancers with exalted neurons.

– Sentinel Of Love (Eli Escobar Remix)
A track with an intro that lasts longer than 1 minute is already one you gotta love, but when said track evokes cool stuff such as : the sea, the aroma of co conut bronzing oil, or an impromptu beach party, you just want to listen to it everyday. The Eli Escobar remix of Sentinel Of Love is Disco pushed to its 80s paroxysm, entangled with the melody you hear when you had your holiday-induced first kiss.

– Sentinel Of Love (Morten Sorensen Remix)
We're still not sure whether Morten Sorensen, revealed by our beloved Tirk Recordings (Fujiya & Miyagi, New Young Pony Club…), is a young Swedish prodigy or one half of Groove Armada. Either way, he definitely sublimed Sentinel Of Love in a digital housey version that 33hz, a little jealous, recognise is as worthy as the original.

– Sentinel Of Love (Rafale Remix)
This Rafale remix will take you on a ride! Suspense-packed bass, it slows down to let us check out the sunset over the City before accelerating again with that chorus «I feel you watching me», resonating like the theme of the best espionnage film ever made, one which Fool House dreams of producing one day.

– Sentinel Of Love (DJ Koyote Remix)
We tracked down DJ Koyote and got him to finish this remix in his half finished living room, but it was worth the hunt ; his trademark rough production applied on some broken house which reminds us of Armand Van Helden's «Necessary Evil» is beautiful. This is the «romantic 4x4 ballad», surprising but exactly to the point.

(Declaration Of) Principles

Une trance futuriste qui prend aux tripes, sur un groove ragga mutant comme seuls Modeselektor savent en faire, avec les injonctions en allemands d'un savant fou dans les interstices. Un choc à chaque fois qu'il est joué live, ce morceau attend encore qu'on construise un club à sa mesure.

A2. Sainte

Groove crapaud, sirènes crunchy et structure implacable, Mondkopf réinvente les basiques techno, joue des chœurs, d'une basse tordue et de montées de tensions, mais garde le pied au plancher. Le kick marteau et obsessif n'a rien de très catholique.

B1. Ave Maria live edit

Impudique, Ave Maria va chercher très loin les émotions de l'enfance, et n'a pas peur de les regarder en face. Un morceau qui vous invite tard dans la chambre, aux heures où l'ordinateur vibre et saigne.

B2. Ave Maria (I :Cube remix)

Séduit par la charge émotionnelle d'Ave Maria, I:Cube choisit de l'emmener sur son nouveau terrain de jeu dans une épopée disco mélodique et enjouée. Les plongées mellow débouchent sur des aurores synthétiques, le motif bugge et trébuche pour mieux repartir, et le final ambient nous laisse un goût d'éternité.
